PRIVATE PRACTICE MENTORSHIP AND SUPPORT
Running a private practice requires that we be entrepreneurs as well as therapists, but many of us could use support and guidance with the business end of our practices. If you are in the process of starting or building your private practice and are looking for help and support, consider joining this new group offered at no cost in the Pioneer Square neighborhood. My goal is to provide the forum for people to share ideas, get feedback on their materials, brainstorm about marketing and networking, learn about online advertising, develop supportive relationships with colleagues and have fun. While I will offer what I have learned in building my successful practice, most of the material will come from the discussion that arises among us. The group will remain open to new members as space allows.
DATE Every other Monday, 8:00am - 10:00 am
LOCATION 108 South Jackson Street, Suite 200

CONVERSATIONS FOR CONNECTION: COUPLES WORKSHOP and RETREAT
Both of these workshops are based on the "Hold Me Tight" program developed for Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) by Dr. Sue Johnson. This educational and experiential program is endorsed by the American Psychological Association as "the most successful approach to creating loving relationships." EFT has achieved an astounding 75% success rate in healing relationship. For more information please go to http://www.seattlemindcounseling.com
The workshops includes instructional and descriptive material, DVDs of couples working through the central issues that cause conflict, and guided exercises for the couples, as well as homework and tools for continuing Conversations for Connection. The Seattle Workshop in April is a shortened version of the full workshop offered in May. Some people are not able to get away for a retreat, due to work and/or family responsibilities. This workshop will allow them access to the "Hold Me Tight" approach. Every effort will be made to cover the material, and resources for follow-up will be provided on request at the end. There is one evening meeting on Thursday, followed by two full days on Saturday and Sunday, from 9 AM till 7 PM.

YOGA FOR DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY: A 6 WEEK WORKSHOP
Take care of the present and the future will take care of itself. ~ Ramana Mararshi.
The practice of yoga can provide physical relief for symptoms that often accompany anxiety and depression as well as calm the flow of negative thoughts, help to release stuck emotions, decrease stress, and allow for greater overall balance between the mind and body. We will explore how specific yoga poses and breathing techniques can help support emotional equilibrium and physical wellbeing. Additionally, we will incorporate mindfulness meditation techniques, chanting, art, and dialogue into our practices. This workshop is designed to offer tools for individuals who are currently experiencing mild-moderate depression and/or anxiety. It is not intended to be a substitute for therapy, but would be a supportive adjunct to current treatment. Cost is $130 for the entire series. Pre-registration required.
